Hi Everyone, Jasmine Bell here. Well, we're off to the great midwest on August 12 to visit family and friends in Ilinois, Wisconsin and Minnesotta. Once again we gear up the old RV and plan many interesting adventures at a number of historic and scenic sites along the way. I'm looking forward as usual to dip in pristine lakes, frolic in ancient forests, and hike through the farmlands and meadows of a what can only be a mid-summer's dream of a trip. Like last year I expect to see many cows, horses, and maybe some deer, elk, and other denizens of the central plains. Here's our itinerary:
August 12- Hendersonville, NC
August 13- Frankfort, KY
August 15- Chicago, IL
August 18- LaCrosse, WS
August 20-Minneapolis, MN
August 21-Clitherall Lake, MN
August 23-Prescott, WS
August 24-Prairie Du Chen, WS
August 25-Hannibal, MO
August 26-Cape Giradeau, MO
August 27-Mammoth Cave, KY
August 29-Ashville, NC
September 1- Home
Once again I put paw to the old computer and calculated the trip's statistics:
- The trip is 21 days
-We travel 3,136 miles
-At 10 miles to the gallon, this will take about 314 gallons of gas
- All told, we'll be staying in 8 RV parks. Otherwise we'll be hanging out with friends and family along the way
Last Sunday, I celebrated my seventh birthday with another party of all my buddies at Oak Island, near Dataw. Here's a few shots of the festivities. Once again we enjoyed dog icecream, "Dogsters, and did some serious romping along the trails.
So stayed tuned to my next excellent adventure to the Midwest. Dad promises to provide some interesting photos, and factoids about our stops along the way.
Travel safe, Jasmine. And keep an eye on those two old fogies you've got with you.
